Last weekend was supposed to be a relaxing long weekend with the girlfriend camping in the New Forest. Sadly the weather decided otherwise, so we stayed in Essex and went a on few day trips. One of these was to London, which included a walk through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. Just after we walked under the bridge over the Serpentine I spotted this grey heron juvenile sitting on a post. Right on cue the rain started coming down! Lucky my Pentax K-5 and DA*300mm are weatherproof!
Hopefully you can tell I was trying to get those nice streaks of rain.
I also saw one of favourite birds, a great crested grebe.
As you can see, a decent photo of this species still eludes me!
