I finally got my first adders of 2013 today, with an adult and a youngster, which I got a nice pic of:
I also got a couple of grab shots of the adult.
I also found a grass snake, but missed the best shot of it coming head on as the sun disappeared and it blurred from lack of shutter speed – always next time I guess! But I got this grab shot, and it was another first of 2013.
I met an adder as a child, then a nest of them as they dispersed – also as a child so I could have been wrong and the fleeing baby snakes were grass snakes. Since then – never. Rarely a snake at all. A few years ago, a grass snake swimming in a a lake – that’s it. Result – charmed to see these pictures.
