Some more shots on Lanzarote. First thing almost every morning, as the sun came up, I headed down to the beach. It was when the ebach was emptiest which meant not only was there more wildlife around, but it was also safer to be walking around with a long lense. On this particular mornign I got a new species for me, a trumpter finch. The light was rubbish so I had to shoot at ISO 800 and this imge is heavily cropped, but it came out ok.
I also, as almost everytime I visted the ebach, came across a whimbrel. It seemed oblivious to me as it climbed up onto a rock to start calling. the sun was behind it so I went for a silhouette.
It took off and headed for the other end of the small beach only for someone else to walk to where it was looking to land and it ended up with a less than elegant landing!
