Stacked images of common froglets and a nursery web spider

Back in May/June I had a number of froglets around my pond and some would sit for me nicely, so I thought I’d try some image stacks of them.  (You can find out more about how I make these these stacks/stacked images here). I got some nice results: Of course I had a few failures…

Common froglet in the garden

A few years ago I dug a pond and this year it had it’s first frogspawn. I had loads of tadpoles for much of the spring and summer as a result and they began emerging as frogs a couple of months ago. There are still some around my pond and on a dull day last…

Marsh Frog and Migrant Hawker swarm at Rainham marshes

Common lizard on a reed and others at Rainham Marshes

On visit to RSPB Rainham Marshes in April I saw 2 stoats, one of which was right in front of me, but I couldn’t get a clear shot of it in the reeds and grass. There was a silver lining however, as it scared one of the common lizards up into the reeds, where it…

2 tailed common lizard at RSPB Rainham Marshes

I paid a visit to Rainham Marshes today as the weather forecast seemed OK, if a bit windy.  The wind pretty much ruled out any serious macro, except for larger stuff on the boardwalks and fences.  Around the bird woodland boardwalk there were plenty of common or viviparous lizards. However this one was a bit…
