Back in May/June I had a number of froglets around my pond and some would sit for me nicely, so I thought I’d try some image stacks of them. (You can find out more about how I make these these stacks/stacked images here). I got some nice results:
Of course I had a few failures when the froglet decided to move halfway through the stack, but a few came out nicely.
The trick was getting the Depth of Field just right, all the froglet in focus, but not a too unnatural start to the out of focus area. In these shots it seem to work at least OK.
In this shot however the froglet seem to have an unimpressed expression, almost like it is looking down it’s nose at me!
A nice find in the garden was this nursey web spider. They were a new species for in the garden this year, and I’m happy to say I saw a few this year as they are one of my favourite spiders, after all they are the closest relative to raft spiders found in Essex! This one posed long enough for one good close up stack, though it was on a bag of compost!
