This week there has been a Juvenile scaup at RSPB West Canvey Marshes. This duck is usually found on the sea, so it was nice to see one on an inland site when I visited yesterday. It was a long way off so I had to use the Pentax q with the adapter and 300mm, which gave me 1700mm or so effective reach.
It was diving for much of the time, as you can see in this video. Its a bit shaky as I forgot my tripod and had to lean on the hide window!
Though at one point it headed for the shore and seemed to be dabbling for food.
