When I was in Lanzarote on the outskirts of Costa Teguise I finally got a good view of a couple of cattle egrets.
They were hunting for grasshoppers in the dry stony habitat that dominates the island.

Aha, useful info. Just paid for my daughters to have a mini-break in my friend’s apartment in Costa Teguise. Something for me to do now next time I go!
