Red fox after raiding the bin

A few months ago I came across this fox raiding a bin. By sitting still I got her to pretty much ignore me and caoming quite close, though she did stop to check me out at one point! She had obviously learned that us humans leave a lot of food waste in the bin.

A couple of nice finds from pond and borrow dyke survey. First was this opossum shrimp my first ever. They are called this because they carry their young round ina pouch, like marsupials. Secon was this screech or squeak beetle, famous for squeaking when it feels threatened. That is the only good shot I managed…
