Some more photos from Lanzarote. Walking along the seafront path in Puerto del Carmen I could here a loud and unfamiliar call coming from a bush. I had a look around the bush and there, less than 50cm from the ground and a couple of metres in front of me was a southern grey shrike.…
Back on Pitsea Landfill site and photographing the wonderful foxes there. This particular fox seemed to have got something stuck in is teeth and pulled a sucession of great poses.
Here is an image of a hawker dragonfly nymph that has just shed its skin (hence the light colouration), that I took using my photographic aquarium. I managed to increase the depth of field by using image stacking (combining a few images focused at different distances).
On my second morning in Lanzarote I headed down to the beach in Puerto del Carmen. There were a few sanderlings in a small sandy bay.
