I started off today with a trip into town and had the rest of the morning to head to RSPB West Canvey Marshes. Or so I thought until I hit yet another standstill of traffic in Essex! I didn’t have time to get to Canvey, so I popped into a private reserve instead and found 6 species of dragonfly including this wonderful female emperor.
She was so cooperative I could lift up the grass stem she was on and use my wide angle macro.
Later at Wat Tyler Country Park I photographed this reed warbler from the hide.
And this male house sparrow with insects in its beak.
