Back in October I headed to Richmond Park. There I took some photos of the Red deer stags. The calves in this one seem unimpressed by the stags bellowing. A couple of youngsters were practising rutting. I also photographed the hinds. This one had some jackdaws feeding on it!
As well as Mandarin Ducks, I got my best pics of fallow deer on my last trip to Richmond Park I saw some posturing.. …and then rutting! Lots of fallow bucks, with some more posing. As well as females.
While not a target species, with them not being 100% wild or native in the strictest sense, coming across the reindeer on the cairngorms was still pretty cool. It was great to see them in an at least semi natural habitat. I tried a different shot too.
As I mentioned in my previous post I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of wildlife at Center Parcs. The feeders in front of the hide were especially good. At least 1 lesser redpoll was about. Which was joined by the many siskin. As you can see most the photos were unfortunately on the feeders…
