Back in November I visited Foxglove Covert Nature resrve in yorkshire and carried out some stream dipping. Among what I found was this Polycleis felina flatworm
Its a species usually found in streams, often under stones in faster flowing stretches. It can be recognised by the large number of eye spots bordering the head its tentacles on it head that form the cats head shape silhouette that presumably is behind the ‘felina‘ species name. Im not aware of a common name, but ‘cat flatworm’ is my suggestion!
