Insect Macro Season begins

Its been a while since I’ve posted so here are some insect macros taken last week. May is my favourite season for insect macros. Here a couple of the iridescent green coloured nettle weevils, often found on nettles unsurprisingly. And a nursery web spider.

Back in May I went hunting for some macro subjects in a nettle bed. I came across this mosquito Also there was this nettle weevil.

While photographing the wheatear at Wat tyler CP, I noticed something on its beak. I seems to be some sort of weevil. Possibly Sitona lineatus or s imilar weevils species.
