Oystercatchers at Filey Brigg

One bird their was plenty of at Filey Brigg was oystercatchers. There was a lot of feeding going on, as the tide was dropping and revealing the mussel beds. One couldn’t wait for the tide to drop completelyd and braved the waves for lunch! One bonus was this eider, it was nice to see one…

Back in March I popped into Seahouses on the way back from Scotland, to photograph the resident eiders there and got my best shots yet of this species. A male posed nicely in the harbour. And a group came close outside the harbour wall. The female posed nicely too.
