Yesterday I was walking around Wat Tyler Country Park, trying out my new macro rig, with the windy conditions causing some frustration. Wandering into a more sheltered area I saw the delicate fluttering of a large insect, and unlike those on previous days it was not a cranefly, but a lovely red damselfly. I got a grab shot but this individual, but it soon took off and was carried away by the wind. Thankfully, nearby I found a sunny more sheltered area, where there were at least 3 more large red damselflies and one seemed happy to pose.
As an added bonus a teneral blue tailed damselfly posed on a nearby twig as I was photographing and I managed one OK photo.
