Yesterday I was pointed in the direction of a Cream spot tiger moth Epicallia villica.
I tried some angles other than the typical top down one and was treated to some wonderful colours.
Who said moths are dull?

I think I saw a Cream Spot Tiger Moth the other day in my Brighton house. It was difficult to identify with most images in books or on websites as they don’t include underside images, so well done for yours – I’ve just visited the Booth Museum here in Brighton and spoken to a lepidoptera catalogue writer who thought it was a Cream Spot or Garden Tiger.
I have just seen one of these in the garden at work and he crashed landed on the grass. So I picked him and he seemed to drying his wings out so he sat on my hand for about 30 minutes and then he flew away. I have never seen one of these before and they are beautiful.
